Landing in a loving and supportive community feels essential, as many of us feel besieged by dramatic headlines and the monumental changes we are all experiencing. We need each other, and it feels incumbent on us to understand each other’s differing perspectives. We must also learn to lead with an open mind and a kind heart. These values are at the core of Karuna Training's teachings, which arise from Vajrayana Buddhism, an ancient recipe for opening our hearts.
Karuna Training is dedicated to building strong bonds, openness, and safety in the community. We understand that our differences are more related to our conditioning and the beliefs we cling to about our sense of self. Identity is important, but we should also be open and aware that our differences are far less than our commonalities as human beings.
This one-hour Karuna Live will introduce the basic tenents of Contemplative Psychology, such as Basic Sanity, loving-kindness, and compassionate exchange. We can quickly assess how habitual our perception of others has become, which affects our communication with them. We separate from others when we don’t investigate our patterns with heart and courage. We are the ones who suffer.
Please join us for a one-hour exploration of how we create bonds with others and cultivate an open, loving, and safe community.

What you will learn:
On Karuna Training
In Karuna Training, we find strength in the intrinsic openness, wisdom, and compassion that is available to us as human beings. In the one-hour Karuna Live introductory session, we will have time to reflect and discuss how we can draw on our innate wisdom as a resource in an ongoing way. The program is open to everyone and will include guided meditation, an experience of the Karuna teachings, and a discussion of upcoming Karuna Training offerings.
The word Karuna means compassion in Sanskrit. Karuna Training brings together a community of people who trust the world’s wisdom to awaken our compassionate hearts. We can learn to resource ourselves and integrate our experiences to live a more empowered life. The world needs all of our compassion, health, and wisdom.
For 28 years, Karuna Training has offered time-tested mindfulness and compassion-based programs in Europe and North America.
A cohort is forming for the next Karuna Training program starting in late May 2025. Learn more about the Basic Training Program here.
