Celebrating the Solstice with Sacred Ritual
Saturday, December 21 at 9:00 AM -10:30 AM MT
Online - FREE. Donations are greatly appreciated.
You're invited to come together in sacred ritual, in gratitude and evocation of the profundity and sanity of the world, to join in a like-minded, heart-based community to realign our nervous systems and join forces and hearts together for the tough times ahead.
We don’t know what the times will bring, but many of us feel dread and fear in the post-election bardo. Some of us feel numbness, and most of us feel groundlessness, especially if we’re in one of the many targeted marginalized populations.
In Karuna, we aspire to co-create a haven for our emotions and truths, to set aspirations, and to align with compassionate intentions. We do this for ourselves, the earth, and all her inhabitants.
Please join Melissa Moore in the community online for a Saturday Morning Winter Solstice Ritual. We will evoke the strength of community to celebrate the potency of the sun's rebirth returning to the Northern (or Southern) Hemisphere. Taking nothing for granted, we will express our gratitude to the Sun and illuminate our intentions going forward.
Sacred Rituals help us bind our bodies to our worlds and our aspirations! In an hour-and-a-half ritual, we will set the boundaries, call in the Five Buddhas for support and blessing, articulate our aspirations, and celebrate.
Karuna’s mission on this Solstice is to offer a sacred space for reflection and to offer all participants space and contemplation to set a personal aspiration for themselves, their families, or the world. You can keep your aspirations a secret or share them, and they can be witnessed by the other participants who attend.
Please come to evoke the sacred together. These are potent times in which we can intentionally remember to connect to our hearts, to the invisible forces behind the sun, moon, elements, and so forth, and to evoke our brilliant sanity in the community.
On Karuna Training
In Karuna Training, we find strength in the intrinsic openness, wisdom, and compassion that is available to us as human beings. In the one-hour Karuna Live introductory session, we will have time to reflect and discuss how we can draw on our innate wisdom as a resource in an ongoing way. The program is open to everyone and will include guided meditation, an experience of the Karuna teachings, and a discussion of upcoming Karuna Training offerings.
The word Karuna means compassion in Sanskrit. Karuna Training brings together a community of people who trust the world’s wisdom to awaken our compassionate hearts. We can learn to resource ourselves and integrate our experiences to live a more empowered life. The world needs all of our compassion, health, and wisdom.
For 28 years, Karuna Training has offered time-tested mindfulness and compassion-based programs in Europe and North America.
A cohort is forming for the next Karuna Training program starting in 2025. Learn more about the Basic Training Program here.
