In-person Retreat at Walker Creek Ranch in Petaluma California
All Karuna Training Basic graduates are heartily invited to this Karuna Refresh & Renew Retreat with Melissa Moore and Terry Jaworski in Petaluma, California Friday, March 17 to Sunday afternoon March 19, 2023.
The retreat will include Maitri Space Awareness practice and connection with the mandala of the elements. We'll open and recharge our hearts in compassionate exchange. We'll take time for wandering, creativity, and community celebration.
The daily schedule will include gathering around the mandala outside, meditation, talks and Q&A, Maitri Space Awareness practice and time for wandering and play, sharing circles, and compassionate exchange practice. We'll have meals together in the dining hall. We'll have a campfire if we can and a dance party at the end.

Private Lodge: One bedroom lodge, private bathroom, fully appointed kitchen, common area, and linens $650
Semi-Private Lodge: Two to four people per room, linens provided, shared bathrooms $530

Facilitators
Melissa Moore Ph.D. has been the steward of Karuna Training North American since 2014 and a co-founder of Karuna Europe in 1996. Melissa has her MA in Contemplative Psychotherapy from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, and her Ph.D. in Psychological Anthropology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Melissa has been a student of Vajrayana Buddhism and Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche since 1979. Melissa has taught Karuna Training in nine countries and five states in the U.S. She is the author of the newly published book, The Diamonds Within Us: Uncovering Brilliant Sanity Through Contemplative Psychology: https://thediamondswithinus.org.
Terry Jaworski, MA, LMHC graduated from Naropa University in 1983 with a degree in
Contemplative Psychology. She worked in Community Mental Health for 25 years as a clinician and supervisor. Terry is now in private practice in Seattle, WA and specializes in mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy. She has practiced meditation for 40 years, has been a meditation instructor for 25 years.
