January 13 - June 8, 2024
The program is six consecutive monthly sessions, meeting for 3 hours from 9 - 12 MT - on the 2nd Saturday of each month.
The way our ancestors lived only occasionally allowed them to have integrated body-mind-emotion relationships. The education they received and their environments cultivated resilience and the limitations that prevented them from dreaming, imagining, and being creative or thoughtful about the future. Modern life doesn't allow us to see the orphans we are when we don't integrate the lineages we come from. In our highly individual-based existence, we get lonely and exhausted.
We can easily bypass our spiritual heritage if we don't learn to sense the beings that still exist in our bodies and environments. Our ancestors´ experiences tend to trap us when we turn our backs on them, but we can quickly free and resource ourselves – once we can feel them from the heart and let go of our judgments. Working on the relationship with our ancestors helps us be kind and humble in our current lives and, most of all, helps us imagine a better future for us all and commits us to work on it.
The movement mines the emotional conditioning we share with our ancestors. Through epigenetics, we learn to be thoughtful about our way of relating to emotions and dream of a future of peace, respect, and tolerance toward emotions.
Drawing on Karuna's practices of Maitri (loving-kindness), intention-setting, imagination, and embodied wisdom, we explore a poetic free dance to access and release our ancestor's limited emotional experience. We ask their permission and blessing to enrich our liberation mutually.
Together, we will journey through poetic landscapes to unfold our ancestors' feelings about each primary emotion.

Luchy López is a multicultural woman living in Madrid, Spain. She’s the mother of three grown women. She has an academic and professional performing arts background. After a healing journey from cancer (1997), she committed to sharing how theater, dance, color, a relationship with space, and unseen guides around us helped her heal. In 2006, she created A Corazón Abierto (ACa), a ritualistic experience of self-inquiry and healing of the bonds with our relatives and vibrant space through free dance/movement and mind-body imagining. ACa is performed with long flowing skirts that she called faldAlas. FaldAlas is a project to cultivate and spread compassion.
She completed the graduate program of Karuna Training in Spain in 2017. Karuna brought her into a new meaning of the word commitment and gave her work a new dimension, including the power of listening/speaking from the heart and the wisdom of the Five Buddha families. Luchy learned Alba Emoting from Andrea Bañuelos, a direct student of Susana Bloch, the creator of this scientific system. She was permitted to teach and share the work (2019).
