Essential Practices for These Times: An Introduction to Contemplative Psychology

with Sandra Ladley

October 14, 2023, from 10 am - 12 pm MT

FREE - ONLINE

How do we cope, take care, and continue to contribute as we face overwhelm on a daily basis? In this introductory program, we will learn gentle practices, share openly in a virtual circle, and touch our pain and inspiration as individuals and as part of the collective.

This program is an introduction to Karuna Training, a program rooted in time-tested Buddhist teachings that provides a modern opportunity to practice deep psychological awareness. Participants will practice contemplative methods that bring us more present and help us connect with others.

If you're looking for an authentic space to investigate emotional energies, tap them for their innate wisdom, and learn methods that cultivate kindness toward yourself and others – then Karuna Training is the program for you.

This two-hour program is appropriate for anyone aspiring to combine mindfulness, awareness, and compassion with their experiences in everyday life.

There are no prerequisites for this program.

Participants learn:

  • How to be more present with themselves in an embodied way
  • Methods that build ‘intensity capacity’ with uncomfortable emotions and circumstances

What to Expect:

  • Guided Meditation
  • Practicing Contemplative Psychology methods in a group
  • Sharing and working with one’s personal experience of emotions, using embodiment and creativity
